Our culture and values
Our strong, connected communities are an ongoing source of pride. The way we look out for each other and handle challenges together, makes our beautiful county the best place to live, work and raise a family.
We have an inclusive, can-do culture where talented people thrive. We offer brilliant benefits, amazing opportunities and recognise effort and achievement. Our people are proud to work with residents and partners to build stronger communities.
One Council
We work as One Council, a dedicated team of public servants building strong and thriving communities in Wiltshire. We’re a dynamic, inclusive workforce who innovate and collaborate to make a difference. We face challenges head-on without compromising our services, values, or successes. We are an agile, high-performing organisation. We reward achievement, recognise effort, and focus on making a difference by delivering the best outcomes for our communities. We want everyone to reach their full potential and give our people opportunities to grow.
Whatever your role, we’ll help you develop new skills and expertise to support your future. We invest heavily in technology that supports flexible working. As part of our commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, we embed carbon reduction and climate resilience into our working culture.
Our Identity is a framework that sets out how we all lead, work and act to deliver our services.

I love the variety of things that I get involved with when I am doing my job, there are always new things that we get involved with.

County Hall, Trowbridge
In Trowbridge, you’ll find County Hall. It has rich history and is a true community space, thanks to its café, Atrium and library, which are accessible to all. That means residents and our colleagues can work remotely there, side by side.
Monkton Park, Chippenham
For natural beauty, Monkton Park is the place to go. At this hub, you’ll find walking trails, green space and a great place to get on with work. The Monkton Park area often hosts cultural events, performances and exhibition, so you might find yourself going back there, perhaps for a concert or sporting event.
Bourne Hill, Salisbury
Bourne Hill is in the centre of Salisbury and had everything you need to work remotely. Architecturally, the hub reflects Salisbury’s heritage as well as modernity. It’s also the perfect place for adminstration and community activities.
